Air Fryer Scones Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 225 g self-raising flour
  • 50 g butter
  • 28 g caster sugar
  • 60 ml whole milk
  • Egg wash
  • Extra virgin olive oil spray
  • Squirty cream (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries (optional)
  • Strawberry jam (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Add the cubed butter.
  2. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  3. Gradually add enough milk to form a soft dough (about 60 ml). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of at least 1.5 cm.
  4. Cut the dough into medium-sized scones and place them in the air fryer basket.
  5. Spray the basket with extra virgin olive oil to prevent sticking, then brush the tops and sides of the scones with the egg wash.
  6. Air fry at 180°C (360°F) for 5 minutes, then lower the temperature to 160°C (320°F) and cook for an additional 12 minutes.
  7. Serve with strawberry jam, sliced strawberries, and cream if desired.
