Air Fryer Scones Recipe
Ingredients:
- 225 g self-raising flour
- 50 g butter
- 28 g caster sugar
- 60 ml whole milk
- Egg wash
- Extra virgin olive oil spray
- Squirty cream (optional)
- Fresh strawberries (optional)
- Strawberry jam (optional)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the flour and sugar. Add the cubed butter.
- Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
- Gradually add enough milk to form a soft dough (about 60 ml). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of at least 1.5 cm.
- Cut the dough into medium-sized scones and place them in the air fryer basket.
- Spray the basket with extra virgin olive oil to prevent sticking, then brush the tops and sides of the scones with the egg wash.
- Air fry at 180°C (360°F) for 5 minutes, then lower the temperature to 160°C (320°F) and cook for an additional 12 minutes.
- Serve with strawberry jam, sliced strawberries, and cream if desired.
