Chicken Alfredo Tater Tot Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1 jar (15 oz) Alfredo sauce
  • 1½ cups sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1½ teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1½ teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups frozen peas or broccoli (optional)
  • 1½ cups fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
  • Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  1. Prepare the casserole base:
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, sour cream, garlic powder, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until evenly mixed.
  • If using peas or broccoli, fold them into the chicken mixture until well incorporated.
  1. Assemble the casserole:
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly across the bottom.
  • Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the chicken mixture.
  1. Add the cheese:
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the tater tots.
  1. Bake:
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  1. Garnish and serve:
  • Once out of the oven, let the casserole cool for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
